These terms cover both the free and paid VelMap plans. Last updated 14 May 2026.
By creating a VelMap account, calling our embed API, or copying an iframe generated by VelMap, you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that company.
VelMap provides a hosted iframe map embed service: you submit a place, coordinates, or list of stops, and we return an iframe that renders a map. The free plan includes 50,000 monthly embed loads. Paid plans include the load allowance described on the pricing page.
You may not use VelMap to harass, defraud, dox, or endanger any person; to display maps that violate applicable export controls; or to scrape our tile servers outside the intended iframe flow. We reserve the right to suspend embeds that disrupt the service for other customers.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Overage on paid plans is invoiced at the rate published on the pricing page. We do not silently downgrade or rate-limit traffic spikes on paid plans; we will email you before any throttling action.
Map tiles are derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Each VelMap iframe includes the required attribution; you must not remove it.
You retain ownership of any content you submit. We retain ownership of the VelMap software, tile cache, and brand. You receive a worldwide, royalty-free license to display the embeds we generate for you for the duration of your account.
VelMap is provided "as is." We aim for high reliability, and paid plans carry a 99.95% uptime commitment, but we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of fifty US dollars or the amount you paid VelMap in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update these terms when we ship significant product changes. If we do, we will email account holders at least 14 days before the new terms take effect.
